For my final capstone advertising/design project, as a team we had to come up with a way to make Michigan State University's official internet safety campaign called SecureIT more compelling to the student body, specifically incoming freshman. After extensive primary and secondary research, we decided on a mobile app game where Sparty fights evil viruses throughout campus landmarks. Though the mobile game was in concept stages, the character of SecureIT Sparty lived on long after our graduation, continuing to teach students the importance of strong passwords, the dangers of file sharing and how to avoid phishing emails, all through social media and print. A digital Sparty for the digital age! We also concepted promotional goods and outdoor ads.

Every year before the big University of Michigan and MSU rivalry game, the MSU Spartan Marching band camps out in front of the Spartan statute to protect it from potential Wolverine vandals. It's usually a chilly time of the year, so having our Sparty "secure" the statue while handing out blankets and hot chocolate would leave a lasting impression on our brave Spartans.
